FE: Who is my Progress Coach?

Progress Coaches are there to support you if you are experiencing problems that may affect your education. The team will work to ensure that you get the help and support you need while you are at College.

HE: Student Engagement Officers

The Student Engagement Officers (SEOs) work on campus and virtually to provide academic and pastoral support to Higher Education students.


The POD Student Services

The POD can be found in the reception area of the Balliol building and the 2nd floor of the South Sefton Campus, and is home to the services that ensure your time at Hugh Baird College is all you want it to be. The POD look after a number of areas, including counselling, learner support and careers advice. You can read more about some of their services below, and also here on the Student Zone.

Wellbeing Support

If you need support/advice with your mental health or wellbeing, you can access external services via our Mental Health Support Portal. Visit the Support Portal

Learner Support

Additional Learning Support is available to you for many reasons, for example, if you have a learning difficulty, a sensory impairment, physical disability, or are dyslexic. Find out more

HE: Matt Wilson is the HE Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) Coordinator. To find out more information on DSA, click here

Financial Support

Here at Hugh Baird College we have schemes in place to help support those students that may find it more difficult to cover the costs of participating in further education, these include help with things such as tuition fees, childcare and travel. Explore financial support
