Hello!
This is the first Blog Post from your Learning Services & Library team. We will be posting on here to to you know what we are up to you, what’s new and how you can get involved.
We run four Learning Services Centres across the college –
Balliol, 4th Floor –
The Balliol LSC contains work desks, PCs and laptops for use within the library and an MFD for printing and photocopying.
It also has a library that includes academic textbooks covering these subjects:
Art & Design, Business, Catering, Childcare, Education, English, Fashion, Hairdressing, Law, Make- Up, Maths, Photography, Psychology, Public Services, Science, Sociology, Sport and Travel & Tourism.
The University Centre collection covering these H.E. subjects –
Business, Child Development, Computing, Criminology, Graphic Design, Law, Psychology and Sociology.
As well as these book collections – Fiction, Graphic Novels, Manga, Wellbeing, Study Skills, Local History Collection and Rainbow Reading (LGBTQ+ Collection).
Port Academy, Ground Floor –
The PAL LSC contains work desks and laptops for use within the library, an MFD for printing & photocopying and a library with books covering the following subjects:
Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Construction, Electrical, Engineering, English, Game & Web Design, Health & Social Care, Maths, Media Production, Motor Vehicle, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing, Science and Tiling.
As well as these book collections – Fiction, Graphic Novels, Manga, Wellbeing, Study Skills, Local History Collection and Rainbow Reading (LGBTQ+ Collection).
Sefton Sixth Form, First Floor –
Sefton Sixth Form College Learning Services Centre contains an MFD for printing & photocopying, work desks, PCs and laptops as well as library with books covering the following subjects:
Art & Design, Business, Computer Science, Criminology, Drama & Theatre, English (Lit. & Lang.), Environmental Science, Film Studies, Geography, Health & Social Care, History, Law, Maths, Media Studies, Physical Education, Philosophy & Ethics, Photography, Psychology, Science, Sociology and Spanish.
As well as these book collections – Fiction, Graphic Novels, Manga, Wellbeing, Study Skills and Rainbow Reading (LGBTQ+ Collection).
Healthcare Hub, First Floor –
The Healthcare Hub LSC contains work desks, PCs, laptops for use within the library, an MFD for printing & photocopying and a library with books covering Health and Social Care topics.
We also have a website that has information about the Learning Services department and access to the library catalogue as well as links to electronic resources.
