Additional Learning Support is available to you for many reasons, for example, if you have a learning difficulty, a sensory impairment, physical disability, or are dyslexic. The role of our Additional Support team is to support you in your studies by providing:
Hugh Baird College is committed to the fair and equal treatment of disabled people. We are committed to promoting equal opportunities for people who have disabilities and we want everyone who studies and works within Hugh Baird College to feel included in all of our services.
We can help if you have a physical disability and/or a visual or hearing impairment. Our trained staff offer friendly support and advice and the loan of specialist equipment.
Did you get help in exams at school for support needs? The Learner Support team can arrange support for you in your exams. Speak to your Study Programme Coordinator for more details.
Our Care Assistants are a team of experienced staff who support students so they can access College facilities and attend classes. The team also provides assistance with students who need time out of class. If students have mobility difficulties or are vulnerable or lacking confidence, we can help them to feel more included within College and help them towards becoming independent, confident students.
