Merseyside Police
Dawn Devanna – Police Constable

I am a Scouser born and bred and originate from the Toxteth Area of the City. I have been a Police Officer for 27 years.

I joined the Police at 24 years old and always wanted to be a cop since I could remember. However, I nearly didn’t become one. I tell you why when I meet you all. I left school with a couple of qualifications. My first job was at 16 years old in MacDonald’s in Liverpool City Centre straight from School. Working in MacDonald’s taught me how to part of a team and to take pride in what I do.

Sometime time after the Toxteth Riots in 1981 the government was forced to look at the unemployment rates for the Black Community of Liverpool and in particular within local Government. And so my journey began.

Elizabeth Brandwood – Senior Account Manager

Currently working as a senior account manager for NuORDER managing the prestigious Ralph Lauren account. NuORDER provide B2B digital solutions to help luxury and lifestyle brands collaborate with top retailers such as Selfridges and net-a- porter to sell products via a virtual ‘shopable’ showroom and plan virtual sales appointments.

I started the path to my career by studying International Fashion Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan. I knew at college I wanted a career in fashion but thought then I wanted to be more on the creative side. The weeks prior to enrolling on a fashion design course, whilst working on the fashion fabrics department at John Lewis, a designer from Karen Millen came to shop an offered me some great advice as a student. “Focus on the business side to get your foot in the door rather than the creative, then you can be as creative as you want.” From his advice I changed my degree course and the rest is history.
